A groundbreaking architecture project setting new global standards

Scope of work: The scope involves the design, supply, manufacture, and installation of façades for The Gate and The Precinct Buildings, which include 13,825 sqm of unitised and stick curtain walling. Additionally, the project covers the design, supply, manufacture, and installation of 120,000 sqm of unitised curtain walling for Central Park.

Unitized Curtain Wall
System

Al Abbar Group provided a unitised curtain wall system featuring integrated top-hung windows and structural glazed units, ensuring a modern, sleek aesthetic and enhanced functionality.

Testing for Air & Water Tightness

The curtain wall system was tested in accordance with CWCT standards, achieving air and water tightness under a pressure of 600 Pascals, ensuring high performance and durability.

Wind Resistance & Seismic Testing

The system passed rigorous wind resistance tests, withstanding wind speeds up to 4.5 kph, along with seismic testing to ensure stability and safety under extreme weather conditions.

Dynamic Water
Tightness

The curtain wall system was subjected to dynamic water-tightness testing, guaranteeing resilience against water ingress during varying environmental conditions.

BMU Load & Soft Impact Testing

The system underwent BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) load testing and soft impact testing, validating its durability and safety for maintenance activities and impact resistance.

Podium Glazing with T-Steel Mullions

The podium glazing is constructed with architectural T-steel mullions & transoms, using EPDM gaskets & specially designed non-visible shoe brackets to securely handle dead loads & stainless steel toggles for wind & live loads.
