project setting new global standards
Scope of work: The scope involves the design, supply, manufacture, and installation of façades for the City Walk Development. This includes 47,800 sqm of unitized curtain wall glazing and 18,931 sqm of stick system curtain walling, ensuring high-quality and efficient integration of these architectural elements throughout the project.
City Walk is a vibrant, design-driven neighborhood located in the heart of Dubai. It boasts hundreds of exclusive shops, restaurants, and leisure activities, all set within 34 low-rise residential buildings. The area features tree-lined avenues and a striking collection of contemporary street art murals, offering a dynamic and stylish environment for both residents and visitors.

Varied Architectural Design
City Walk features 22 different low-rise buildings, each with unique architecture and a mix of façade materials such as glass, terracotta, aluminium cladding, GRC fins, stainless steel railings, louvres, and decorative fins.
Facade Material Diversity
The buildings showcase a broad selection of materials including glass, terracotta, and aluminium cladding. Additionally, GRC fins, louvres, and decorative fins up to 14 meters long were used, contributing to the unique aesthetic of each building.
Custom Glass Box Design
The City Walk Glass Box, standing at 5 meters in height, was supported by glass fins and spider support. This structure was engineered in-house and thoroughly verified by a third-party for compliance with safety and design standards.
In-house Engineering & Verification
The design and engineering of the glass box were handled internally, ensuring precise specifications and custom solutions. Third-party verification further ensured structural integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
Specialized Installation Team
The installation of the glass box and other complex façade elements was closely supervised by Al Abbar’s engineering team. A dedicated, installation team carried out the erection, ensuring high standards of quality and safety throughout the process.
