Scope of work: Covers the design, supply, manufacture, and installation of bespoke glazed skylights and related elements for the redevelopment and expansion project. This includes 13 customised glazed skylights with steel structures, cast aluminium components, smoke windows, and cleaning access equipment, covering an area of 10,749 sqm. Additional works comprise clerestory glazing (1,370 sqm), glazed screens/doors (1,124 sqm), and stainless steel column cladding (90 sqm).
Mall of the Emirates, developed by Al Abbar Group, is the world’s first shopping resort, located in the heart of Dubai. Spanning 233,467 sqm, it hosts over 630 brands, including leading department stores, fashion and lifestyle outlets, sports, electronics, home furnishing retailers, and the city’s largest Carrefour.

Fashion Domed Glazed Structure
A 40m diameter x 20m high glazed dome (IGU) built with pre-assembled steel frames, faceted glazing on EPDM gasket frames, and joints sealed using Butyl tapes.
Mobile Gantry Access System
Internal and external BMUs run on circular base and top tracks, enabling safe, efficient cleaning and maintenance of the dome and skylights.
Decorative Structural Cladding
Steel frames and ribs are clad with aluminium decorative panels finished in verdigris copper colour, adding architectural elegance while ensuring durability and weather resistance.
Barrel Vault Dimensions
A glazed barrel vault (IGU) measuring 150m in length, 6m in height, and 11m in width enhances natural light penetration while maintaining structural integrity & energy efficiency.
Barell Vault Structural Finish
The steel frames and ribs of the barrel vault are clad with aluminium decorative panels, providing a seamless visual match to the Fashion Dome and contributing to the mall’s unified architectural identity.
Barell Vault Access & Maintenance
Internal and external BMUs are integrated within the barrel vault design, ensuring comprehensive maintenance access without impacting aesthetics or functionality.
