Overview

A groundbreaking architecture
project setting new global standards

Scope of work: involves the design, supply, manufacture, and installation of various façade components across three packages. For Package 1 | Tower A, this includes 36,586 sqm of aluminium unitised curtain walling, 21,683 sqm of aluminium horizontal louver shade, and additional elements such as glass louver windscreen and coping cladding. Package 2 | Tower B + Link Bridge covers 23,132 sqm of aluminium unitised curtain walling, 10,203 sqm of unitised balcony curtain wall, and other features like lift & slide doors, glass roof, and aluminium soffits. For Package 3 | Podium & Plaza, the scope includes 12,111 sqm of stick curtain wall, architectural louvers, structural glazed curtain wall, and aluminium cladding for walls, columns, soffits, and fascias.

One Za’abeel, a groundbreaking mixed-use development in Dubai’s Za’abeel district, features two iconic towers of 67 and 58 floors, connected by the world’s longest cantilever structure, the 120m-high, 226m-long Link Bridge. As part of this ambitious project, we’re contributing to the creation of Dubai’s most innovative development, which pushes the boundaries of design and engineering.

Technical details

Engineering that
holds it all together

Unitised Curtain Wall System (Tower A)

The tower uses a unitised curtain wall system with slim interior frames and outer fritted glass fins (W=0.5m), connected to mullions with thermal breaks, combining structural strength and visual appeal.

Double Height Frameless Glass (Tower A)

At VIP areas on Levels 20/21 (South Elevation), double-height frameless glass curtain walls (H=7.5m) are structurally bonded to inner glass fins, creating an uninterrupted, modern aesthetic.

Link Bridge Steel Structure

The Link Bridge features an architectural built-up steel structure (AESS 4), with smooth surfaces, high-precision machining, and polished welding. All fabrication and installation were conducted within strict tolerances for accuracy.

Diamond-Shaped Facade Units (Link Bridge)

The façade at the Link Bridge includes diamond-shaped units with integrated inner blinds and LEDs, offering both functionality and visual appeal on both the north and south elevations.

Frameless Glass Units & High-Load Resistance (Link Bridge)

The façade design incorporates frameless glass units with 13m high glass fins on the East and West elevations, structurally verified to withstand high wind loads up to 6kPa and maintenance loads from inside.

Glass Floor & Windscreen (Link Bridge)

The Link Bridge features an internal glass floor with triple-laminated heat-strengthened glass supported by glass beams, and a free-standing glass box with laminated low iron glass, designed to withstand high wind loads at 125m above ground.
